There are two components to this task:
- An annotated bibliography – Due Monday, December 3 at the start of class
- You will complete a practice annotation on google classroom
- You will submit an annotated bibliography a week before your project is due
- A research project of your own design – Due Monday, December 10 at the start of class

Annotated Bibliography
An annotated bibliography is a list of citations to books, articles, and documents. Each citation is followed by a brief (usually about 150 words) descriptive and evaluative paragraph, the annotation. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the sources cited. For more information see http://guides.library.cornell.edu/annotatedbibliography
Cite your sourcing using APA style. For a good sample of an APA style annotated bibliography look here: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/614/03/
Your annotation should have two paragraphs, the first a summary of the article, the second an assessment and evaluation of the quality of the source and why you chose it, any potential biases, areas for further research/discussion and/or its usefulness for completing the project.
Summary: Approximately 50 to 80 words Evaluation: Approximately 100 to 120 words
I am looking for only high-quality sources that explore the topic with some depth. This means no short newspaper articles – longer, in-depth reporting from newspapers or online sources is acceptable.
I will be assessing the quality, depth and breadth of your sources as well as the clarity and conciseness of the summaries and the evidence of critical thinking in your evaluation of the sources.

Research Project
You can design your own project within the following parameters. Each group member will submit an annotated bibliography of 3 annotated resources and at least 5 additional sources of research.
Groups will submit a google doc or diigo list of research rough notes organized either by person, for an individual grade, or subtopic fora group grade.
Each project will summarize key research findings that are applicable to your chosen audience in a communication method appropriate for that audience.
If you choose the campaign option, it should include the following:
- Visual component – posters/ads
- Written component – pamphlet/letter
- Social media component – tweets/instagram posts/facebook page
Videos can be ads/stories/recorded presentations
